Theoretical ideas of the self-nominations on the Internet which are coming down to understanding of the self-nominations as some kind of projections of an individual self-assessment in the Internet are generalized In the article, extralinguistic features of mechanisms of formation of the self-nominations on the English-speaking Internet are analysed, material in compliance with extralinguistic determinants of the self-nominations is studied and systematized: age, gender, professional, territorial and other. The conclusion is drawn that in extralinguistic sources of the self-nominations are represented the real world surrounding the person, his mentality, national character, a profession, a way of life, attitude, vision of the world.
