Abstract
The article analyzes the problems of the protection of natural monuments. The focus is on, the fact that many natural objects not included in the relevant lists, and do not have protected status. Moreover, many monuments of nature exist only "on paper": no real measures for their protection is not conducted. Revealing the essence of the problem, are the ways of its solution, namely the creation of a special legislative act of the nature monuments, and strengthening public control over this category of objects..
