VECTOR A POETIC REINTERPRETATION OF THE ENGLISH SOURCE (“A FEAST IN TIME OF PLAGUE” BY ALEXANDER PUSHKIN)

Abstract
The following article is devoted to the comparison (comparative analysis) of two works – “A Feast in Time of Plague” by Alexander Pushkin and "The City of the Plague" by John Wilson, the latter being a peculiar source of Pushkin’s work. The main attention is focused on the authors’ difference in the interpretation of such notions as “death” and “action”. The author of the article proposes a new approach to the disclosure of the subject. The difference of the rendering of the description of the similar situations in two works is dictated by the religious and ethic principles, formed in the Russian and European culture.
