NUREMBERG COUNTING TOKENS 18TH-19TH CENTURIES WITH PORTRAITS OF RUSSIAN EMPERORS

Abstract
The article deals with a byway object of investigation – the part of Nuremberg counting tokens (gem. rechenpfennig) 18th-19th centuries, where on the obverses are depicted the portraits of Russian Emperors. The empirical data was provided by the counters from the numismatic collections of the museums of the world (Russia, USA, West Europe) and some private collections. The article describes the main types of counting tokens the Russian style, gives their classification and description. The authors follow the relationship of images on counting tokens 18th-19th centuries, devoted to Russia, with the counting of the earlier period.
