Abstract
The article is dedicated to the works of Ernst Cassirer and his “philosophy of symbolic forms” as a methodology for esoteric studies. The author analyzes Cassirer’s understanding of magic as a fundamental social praxis in the context of mythological thinking and importance of Cassirer’s ideas for contemporary scholars of esotericism.
