Abstract
The topicality of the article is defined by the reference to semantico-stylistic features of philosophical poetry. Its texts are traditionally considered to be difficult for perception and interpretation. The research is devoted to the peculiarities of metaphorization of lexical units with negative semantics. These units represent abstract philosophical categories (Nothing, Nothingness). The article studies their functioning as one of the sense-generating components of the text. It contains English, German and Russian examples.
