Abstract
The article presents the historical and pedagogical analysis of formation of the theory of learning tasks . As part of this problem are investigated four stages, starting from the period of creation of preconditions for the development of activity theory as a methodological basis of educational problems and ending with the present time , when learning tasks have moved to the status of an independent didactic categories, taking on the organizational, developmental and evaluative functions.
