Abstract
The article considers the problem of stay of prisoners or war from the Great Army of Napoleon in theVyatkaprovince in 1812-1813. According to orders of central and military power local authorities were to solve the problem of distribution and material maintenance of prisoners. Local inhabitants displayed different attitude to prisoners of war – from hostility to sympathy and material help. In general, theVyatkaprovince had good facilities for social adaptation of prisoners or war.
