Abstract
The article deals with the creation of the home guard in theVyatkaprovince in 1812. It consisted mainly of the serfs. About 11 896 serfs lived in theVyatkaprovince in 1812. There was a plan to call up for military service about 437 infantrymen and 47 cavalryman. The local authorities together with local self-government, according to official instructions, solved most of the problems in creation of the home guard – its order of formation, quantity, material equipment, alarm posts.
