Abstract
The article is devoted to the research of gastronomic neologisms in the French language. National cuisine is considered as an integral part of French culture. The author identifies the most productive ways to create new lexical units in modern French, with illustrations given for each of the models. The analysis of neologisms in this category reflects the evolution of French society influenced by social processes of national and global scope.
