Abstract
This article discusses the environmental and legal principles in terms of their functional purpose. As an example, see Article 3 of the Federal Law of 10.01.2002 № 7 of the Federal Law "On Environmental Protection". The analysis of the definition of "sustainable development", shows the essential features that define its content. The significance of environmental and legal principles as fundamental principles that summarize a lot of specific rules of the local destination.
