Abstract
The article concerns the emotive macro component of phraseological meaning and its realization in the texts of contemporary English press. Particular attention is paid to the peculiarities of usage of phraseological units in the texts of press and journalese. The attempt is made to analyze the contexts to find out the frequency of fixed phrases usage.
