Abstract
This article examines one of the indicators that contributes to socio-economic progress and is the engine of the economy - the human capital of youth, and also analyzed the main trends of this indicator for Russia. The author comes to the conclusion about the importance of the development of the human capital of young people in order to maintain the place of the region in the rating of the subjects of the Russian Federation, and also to enhance the image of the region.
