Abstract
This article is devoted to two aspects of modern language policy. According to the general point of view, the era of English domination cann’t be a permanent phenomenon. Dominance leads to acquiring negative associations by dominant language and its speakers, which sooner or later leads to the loss of global status. Many historical and economic factors can cause changes in the global status of the language. However, the problem of preservation of languages as a factor of cultural heritage preservation remains the priority of a civilized society. The dominance of a particular language may be the reality of today linguistic landscape because of the impossibility of obtaining such status by artificially created languages.
