Abstract
This article deals with the problem of absenteeism in today's Russia, namely the low political activity of citizens, leading to a drop in legal culture, the abuse of the electoral process, indifference to the choice of authorities. The study in the article showed that the mass absenteeism that can blast the democratic mechanisms of management of society, to make people the object of manipulation, to form a passive personality. It is therefore necessary to find methods of overcoming of this phenomenon and raise political activity of citizens, primarily young people.
