”LEVIATHAN” DIRECTED BY A. ZVYAGINTSEV IN THE CONTEXT OF A. TARKOVSKY’S CREATIVE HERITAGE

Abstract
Andrey Tarkovsky became not just a phenomenon of world auteurism, but also its certain milestone which was a starting point for new creative researches of other filmmakers. Among such directors an important role is played by Andrey Zvyagintsev who in the film "Leviathan" updated many issues touched by Tarkovsky in his works, such as home, loneliness, place of the person in the world and responsibility of each person for this world. In this article the author compares films "The Sacrifice" by Tarkovsky and Zvyagintsev's "Leviathan" and comes to a conclusion that the main concepts offered by Tarkovsky find new interpretations in Zvyagintsev's work.
