Abstract
The article discusses the features of the formation of the modern city’s cultural landscape based on the data of a sociological research about the cultural preferences of the Nizhny Novgorod citizens, identifies the main cultural "zone" associated with traditional and contemporary culture, as well as attempts to identify the key images of the Nizhny Novgorod culture.
