Abstract
This article covers the creation of the first nuclear bomb in the USSR and developments of polytechnic scientists in this programme. The research brings up the problem of the place of intelligence for the benefit of Soviet nuclear physics of 1940s. The analysis allows us to state (assert) that the level of Soviet physicists’ developments was sufficient for independent completion of the nuclear project.
