Abstract
The article determines the role and place of training technologies at the process of teaching high school students English language. The author advances a thesis that creating a module-based training model that consists of problematic training situations serves as an effective method of social, professional and communicative competence development. The author also introduces additional criteria to situational topics selection and several communicative situationsthat could be applied.
