Abstract
The article deals with the diversity of charitable and patriotic actions at pre-war years (1911 - 1914), held in Samara province. The study is based on archives of the Russian Red Cross Society local branch, other public associations and local governments, which conducted fundraising for the native culture and defense, famine relief and other social purposes.
