Abstract
The present study carried out in the framework of cultural linguistics and it is a part of investigation of the concept DISEASE in Latin language. The article discusses different views on the nature of health and disease, common in ancient society. A study conducted by the research works of ancient authors, highlight the key features of the perception of health and illness in a certain period. The end result is to define the role of the mythology of the disease, prevalent in the society in the formation of the concept DISEASE.
