Abstract
By its essence the mingei theory consists of ideas concerning a criterion of beautiful. S. Yanagi has worked out a concept according to which the highest beauty is represented in the hand-made products of the folk crafts designed for their daily applications. Such products have been produced by craftsmanship teams in which every craftsman is deprived of his personal ego, impersonal and unknown, free from being obsessed by wealth and works only for the sake of his daily bread.
