Abstract
The paper is focused on the peculiarities of selection and preparing of prospective foster parents. The main stages of the process are as follows: basic stage, reception and registration of applications, diagnostic stage, planning and training for prospective foster parents, final stage. The main forms and methods of work with candidates for adoptive parenthood at each stage were identified.
