Abstract
This article analyzes the sources and traditions of the military-patriotic education in Russia. According to the author, appeal to the military history has always promoted civic education, the appearance of high moral character. Tradition and the heroic past of the Russian army are so diverse that it is capable of being the foundation of patriotic ideology of Russia, its moral basis.
