Abstract
The present paper deals with the analysis of logical paradoxes and “illocutionary suicides” centering on the specific character of the interaction between the underlying proposition and the outer modal frame. Particularly, the article gives a detailed analysis of “autoreflexive” propositions which in speech are perceived as linguistic anomalies. One of the sources of such anomalies appears to be the incomplete (fictional) proposition underlying a statement or an imperative.
