Abstract
The article is dedicated to comparative analysis of word-formation peculiarities and structure of compound names of the diseases in the Finnish and the Erzya languages. The authors identify, that there are many compound names of diseases in the Finnish language, but in the Erzya language they are represented as terminological phrases. There are several criteria for distinguishing compound words and terminological phrases in the Erzya language, unlike Finnish.
