Abstract
The article deals with the specificity of interpreting intercultural speech acts, the language units chosen for the analysis being anthroponyms and requests. The emphasis is laid upon difficulties that the speaker and the recipient have to encounter while using anthroponyms and realising a communicative strategy expressing a request.
