Abstract
The article describes the features of accounting area command of the Russian troops in the organization of the battle of Borodino. It is concluded that the disadvantages of the selected location of the battle were offset resistance of the defending forces and skillful maneuver of troops and artillery. It is proposed to continue the initiative of the President of Russia for Assigned Names compounds Russian army of old Russian regiments in the interests of renewal of historical memory.
