Abstract
The Chinese scientific psychology has historically emerged simultaneously with the American scientific psychology. No one of the Chinese scholars investi-gated the psychology of religion prior to 1949. During the cultural revolution in the Chinese psychology there has dominated the Soviet political ideology and the Soviet psychological conceptions. Beginning the late 1970s the psychological faculties returned to the majority of the Chinese universities. In China the demand for the indigenuous psychological approaches steadily grows aiming at solving the specific Chinese psychological problems opposing to the approaches being practiced in the western countries. Nowadays the Chinese psychologists are being addressed for solving the social problems by means of the psychotherapy. However the psychology of religion is still neglected by everyone.
