AbstractIn the article the versions of the use of concepts “value” and “sense” in connection with to word and speech are analyzed. Analysis is achieved within the framework of cognitive-semantic approach on the basis of the author's treatment of concepts “thought”, “thinking”, “consciousness”, “awareness”. The value of word is considered as the expression of its object referred, and word itself - as the means of the lingual representation of the content of mental images. Sense is correlated with speech and awareness of the content of thought expressed in the speech.Keywords: awareness, consciousness, sense, thinking, thought, value
