Abstract
The article outlines the aspects of lexical and semantic matching of precedent British folk poetry texts Nursery Rhymes with their translations into the Russian language. The comparison is being made at structural and cognitive levels. The reasons of lexical features lag study from the grammatical and phonetic features are studied. All the investigated issues lie within the field of contrastive (comparative) lexicology.
