NORTHEAST ASIAN FREE TRADE AREA NEGOTIATIONS: PROBLEMS AND PROSPECTS

Abstract
The paper analyzes the negotiation process regarding the establishment of the Northeast Asian free trade area between China, Japan and South Korea. Author studies the evolution of the trilateral FTA idea which was developed during 2000-2011 joint research projects, meetings and annual summits. Author reveals prospects and obstacles of the negotiation process as well as its potential impact on strengthening of economic ties between three Northeast Asian nations.
