THE CONCEPT OF HUMAN’S DIGNITY IN THE SOCIAL TEACHING OF THE UKRAINIAN GREEK-CATHOLIC CHURCH

Abstract
Article is devoted to analysis of the conception of human’s dignity in the social teaching of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church. Main features of the notion “human’s dignity” in the social doctrine of the Catholic Church are revealed. The content of the same notion in teaching of the UGCC is examined. The notion of dignity is seen as a basic element in church’s approach to social reality and to the critique of consumerism as it grounds on uncontrolled accumulation of material goods and humans dependence on such goods. The church’s accent on human’s dignity is seen as powerful ecumenical factor.
