Abstract
Research is devoted to the problems of adapting institutions of the Orthodox Church (Parish and fraternities) to ethno-cultural peculiarities of the territory inhabited by Karelians. Revealed that the main activities of the clergy was the performance of religious services and to fight against the influ-ence of the Old Believers. Failures in the activities of the parish clergy associated with poor adapta-tion to the ethno-cultural specificity of the flock.
