THE INFLUENCE OF THE RUSSO-JAPANESE WAR ON THE LIFE OF PEASANTS OF THE VYATKA REGION

Abstract
The article is devoted to changes, brought to the life of Vyatka peasants by the Russo-Japanese war. A great amount of evidences of this period are kept in local periodicals of those days. It is stated that war caused reduction of living standard of local inhabitants as a result of break of economical relations between Vyatka province and neighboring regions as well as military mobilizations. Alongside with this the Russo-Japanese war stimulated a dramatic awakening of peasants’ consciousness and mental activity under conditions of informational boom of the war time. It became apparent in peasant’s criticism of military reports, unexpected interest to international events, to publishing newspapers etc.
