Abstract
The article deals with the different types of semantic relations between the subject and the object of comparative constructions. There are the metaphorical, hyperbolic, oxymoron relationships of comparison’ components , the relationship of litotes. Functional-semantic category of comparison stands as an aggregate linguistic units, which are diverse in terms of structure and in terms of semantics.
