Abstract
The paper is about the history of the problem of Gibraltar during the World War II. The German-Spanish negotiations on the question of the eventual occupation of Gibraltar and the role of this territory as the most important British Mediterranean naval base are studied. Special attention was made on the position of the Spanish leader F. Franco and the reasons of his neutrality during the World War II.
