Abstract
This article considers the national capacity of regional historical and cultural heritage as a basis for the cultural and informative tourism development as well as for peoples’ identity preservation. The work reveals main types of regional cultural tourism, and discusses the factors influencing its development. It also designates major activities of the international organizations in this sphere.
