AbstractThe article is devoted to the activities of the provincial branch of the gendarmerie. Revealed a gradual change in the priorities of the secret police, as well as the basic principles of operational work. It is shown that the management of the gendarmerie oriented employees not only to curb the upcoming crime and anti-revolutionary movement, but also on correct behavior in relation to local people (especially students).
