Abstract
The article is devoted to the Anglo-American historiography of problems of the genesis and development of Russian liberalism in the second half of the XVIII century, its relations with the changes in Russian society of that time, its ideology, program and tactics, its relationship with the authorities, the centers of gravity of the early Russian liberalism.
