Abstract
C. G. Jung was convinced that the I Ching is embodied in his two most important ideas - the archetypes and synchronicity. The Jungian archetypes are often described as instinctive, universal, and unconscious psychological forces or patterns that specify the images of human thinking and behavior. These archetypes appear in symbols (archetypal images), which can be found in visual art, myths, literature and dreams. Despite the existence of a relatively small number of fundamental patterns at an unconscious level, they indicate a host of specific images.
