Abstract
The cinema of I. Bergman is characterized by the dominance of anthropocentric art space. The chamber space of his films is actualized through the use close-ups. Among the many Bergman’s films it is "Persona" and "The Silence" that most explicitly reveal the director's technique. To identify Bergman’s essential tools in rendering the psychological states of characters the author offers a detailed analysis of the use of close-ups in the films “Persona” and “The Silence”.
