Abstract
The article deals with current problems related to the use of information and communication technologies in the practice of teaching foreign languages in non-linguistic universities (on the example of USURT). It stresses the importance of modification of teaching content and methods due to the increasing informatization of life and growing requirements to training highly qualified specialists. Particular attention is paid to describing the advantages and structure of the Blackboard Learn Platform, its educating, communicative, consultant and demonstrative functions.
