Abstract
The paper deals with involvement of women in scientific activities: names of women-scientists that contributed to development of science of their times; forms of scientific activities; premises for involvement of women in science. Attention is paid to discrimination of women in sphere of science: difficulties and barriers for women in different historic periods.
