Abstract
This article analyzes the activities of finnish forestry companies in the context of heightened competition in this sphere, the growing demand for its products in the world and the reduction of forest areas. As a consequence in order to achieve competitive advantages large companies carry out technological and geographical shifts in the structure of production. Finnish forestry companies are the most successful and innovative companies in this sphere in the world, so the analysis of innovation policy is particularly relevant as an example that the number of available resource is not a main factor in the development of production.
