PREJUDICES AND SUPERSTITIONS: THE ROLE OF APOTROPE TOYS IN CONTEMPORARY CULTURE

Abstract
The article discusses the peculiarities of the stereotypical consciousness and the mythological thinking of the present-time man, associated with prejudices and superstitions. The key role belongs to the apotrope folk toy, which in today's reality keeps its traditional specifics. Focusing on the functional properties of the apotrope, the article makes an attempt to determine which objects of everyday reality have the properties of the apotrope toy and how they affect traditions of Russian culture.
