RELIGIOUS TOURISM AS A FACTOR OF INTERCONFESSIONAL DIALOGUE IN THE XXI CENTURY

Abstract
Religious tourism is considered an important factor of intercultural and interconfessional dialogue, which contributes to successfully overcoming religious intolerance. The authors suggest separating religious tourism, which has mostly educational purposes, from pilgrimage, which involves travelling to sacred places. Religious tourism encourages a deeper awareness of the regional history and culture, and promotes mutual understanding among representatives of different faiths.
