Abstract
The paper highlightens some problems and difficulties in teaching of Spoken English listening to students of a transport higher school.The main components necessary for listening compehension are described. The author shows how teachers' proficiency in this process and students' knowledge of Spoken English specific features may contribute to more effective teaching of listening.
