TRADITIONS OF DRESSING UP ON MASLENITSA IN THE NOVGOROD PROVINCE (IN THE CONTEXT OF SPATIAL RESEARCH RUSSIAN MASLENITSA)

Abstract
The article confirmed the thesis of the weaker and less diverse tradition of Maslenitsa masking compared to the Christmas mummers in the Novgorod region. Revealed the specifics of Maslenitsa maskers and the main character in the Novgorod province dressed up as a horse and sleigh and charioteer / rider. Autor proves the rare presence in the Novgorod province of Maslenitsa stuffed animals / dolls, that significantly different from the "Central Volga" Pancake tradition. Author says of a more general nature and more chronological depth of an image of dressing up as a horse and sleigh and charioteer / rider compared with female scarecrow on a sled at the Russian.
