Abstract
The article gives an overview of the international legal acts, some of which are part of the Russian legal system, and to some extent involve the labor of convicts to imprisonment. Commenting on the provisions of the examined documents, the author compares the held in them the concept of legal regulation of labor of persons convicted to deprivation of freedom with the one that is implemented in modern penal legislation of Russia, identify existing strengths and weaknesses of the organization of labor.
